Premiering on YouTube on May 19th, “You Are The New Day” is the New York City Master Chorale’s first-ever virtual concert. This free (donations welcomed) event is a chance to come together (digitally), enjoy music recorded using 4+ software platforms by NYCMC singers from across the country, look ahead to the choir’s future and raise support for our upcoming milestone 15th Anniversary season, and celebrate the seven years that Dusty Francis has spent with the group – including two as Artistic Director – before his departure at the close of the season. The evening will run just over an hour and include choral works, footage from previous concerts, and solo and small group numbers from NYCMC singers and instrumentalists!

This has been an unprecedented and deeply challenging time for small performing arts organizations, grappling with both transformative losses in revenue and profound changes in purpose. It’s been nearly fifteen months since we last sang for all of you and we miss sharing that space together. For now, we hope you will join us for this event, send Dusty off in style with a gift to NYCMC’s future, and share a concert full of hope, joy, and brighter days ahead.

Registration is required and a viewing link will be distributed the morning of the event. “You Are The New Day” is free to attend, and we would be grateful for your contribution in lieu of a ticket purchase. You can make a gift at nycmasterchorale.org/donate. Please contact info@nycmasterchorale.org with any questions, concerns, or for information about sponsorship opportunities.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
