Strategic Plan

Our Strategic Plan

The board of the New York City Master Chorale firmly believes in engaging in active strategic planning to keep our organization moving forward in support of our mission. Below are the goals and objectives we have set for ourselves and will continue to strive toward.

Goal One – Artistic Excellence

  • Perform regularly at established concert venues and at least one concert per year with orchestra
  • Pursue and cultivate collaborations with a diverse group of arts organizations
  • Create recordings of a varied repertoire
  • Commission and perform new works regularly
  • Increase/Sustain membership to 90-100 singers
  • Tour internationally to a wide range of locations

Goal Two – Visibility in New York City and Beyond

  • Increase visibility in our community through outreach performances, collaborations, and regular communication with our patrons
  • Revise and implement phase two of our education plan
  • Develop deeper relationship with our constituents through regular communication, special events, and soliciting feedback
  • Create a small outreach ensemble
  • Expand our video documentation and use of social media
  • Maintain an up-to-date and dynamic website

Goal Three – Effective Governance

  • Grow to a consistent 10-15 person board including both singers and non-singers
  • Revise mission and vision statement to reflect the unique elements of NYCMC
  • Grow our cash reserves each year by having a modest surplus
  • Create and implement a fundraising road map to our 15th Anniversary
  • Engage in active strategic planning
